About - Free Nature Wallpaper

This website and the photos you see are the result of a photographer that loves to design web sites, an IT graduate that prefers to take pictures of the wonderful natural world around us, and an English graduate looking for any excuse to write. I am Laura Hardesty and I am dedicated to the personalized development of this site which in turn encourages me to get out and take more photos for the site. It's a very fun vicious cycle!

ABOUT THE SITE

FNW is at once, a place to display my photography, practice and perfect my web design skills (still working on it all the time!) and I hope to share my interest in our environment and the importance of protecting it and all the creatures in it. When possible I try to write some informational text about certain subjects you'll find on this site, such as endangered species information or even names of plants and insects. I also hope to create, in you the visitor, an interest in the great outdoors for adults and children, as this site is family friendly. And finally, yes, I hope to make a little money from this site in order to keep working on this site and others. To facilitate this, I place unobtrusive ads across the site - you may read our Privacy Policy regarding this.

I have been exhibiting my photography across South Florida for several years, in jurried exhibits and solo events. My photos have won a few prizes (no bragging please) for which I am very honored. If it were not so hot where I live, I would be outside

taking pictures all the time, and this site probably would not exist. I'm also interested in computers, network administration, grapic design and time-wasting xbox games. One of the first things I loved about the Internet years ago, was looking for new desktop wallpaper to apply to my little bitty computer monitor. That and hearing Pee Wee Herman laughing out of my speakers. The access that the Internet gave me inspired me to take better pictures and it

created an interest in web design. Now days, as the Web is flooded with sites offering wallpaper photography, the thing I like the least is finding the same commercial photos across so many site. And worse, finding the same site design, thinly disguised by changing the colors, because so many sites now are mass produced by a company (spammers they call 'em) not a designer. That is why I am dedicated to making Free Nature Wallpaper unique.

The photography equipment I currently use is a Cannon 40d digital SLR. My two main lenses right now are the Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM and a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro prime. My wish list is too long to put here. I use an Epson R1800 for the prints that I sell. If you would like a print of your favorite wallpaper photos from this site, please Contact Me for information.
